About Us

Capital City Sweets is a veteran-owned dessert shop in Lansing, MI, founded by Patrick Kayser and Daniel Mooney. The idea began during Patrick’s senior year of high school on a trip to Manhattan, where he discovered ready-to-eat cookie dough shops, a concept that hadn’t yet reached Lansing.

After becoming a finalist in the first Lansing Built to Last pitch competition in 2021, Capital City Sweets started selling cookie dough and ice cream in Middle Village downtown. CCS began selling treats at Lansing Lugnuts home games, and the demand for our sweet treats began to boom!

Our Michigan Avenue shop opened in May of 2025, serving hand-dipped ice cream, ready-to-eat cookie dough, and rotating specials, welcoming locals and visitors alike to enjoy sweet treats and a little bit of happiness.

  • Yes! We are proud to offer many dairy-free options, including a variety of dairy-free ice creams, sorbets, and cookie doughs. To inquire about availability of specific dairy-free options, please call us at 517-296-6997.

  • Many of our ice cream flavors are gluten-free! We usually carry one flavor of gluten free cookie dough made with almond flour, available in-store at all time. To inquire about availability of specific gluten-free treats, call us at 517-296-6997.
